The Putter’s Code

Version 1.0
“A true putter always looks for opportunities”

Section 1: Applications of the Code

All players partaking in a putt are subject to the Putter’s Code. Agreement to putt under the Code is made when the player loads up the game. The Putter’s Code is non‑negotiable and is always in effect when playing Golf With Your Friends.

Section 8: Conditions of the Putt

Section 8A: Valid Putt Requirements

Clause 8A.1

A valid putt is any stroke made using the in‑game power gauge with the intent to advance the ball into the hole.

Clause 8A.2

The putt must be continuous; interrupted or cancelled strokes are invalid.

Clause 8A.3

The game records the score when the ball successfully enters the hole.

Section 8B: Environmental Interactions

Clause 8B.1

Collisions with another player's ball are final, as determined by the game.

Clause 8B.2

Power‑ups and boosts are permitted within the game’s rules.

Section 8C: Mental and Physical Game

Verbal abuse, trash‑talk, distractions, and physical interference are encouraged as part of the game.

Clause 8C.2

Use of external software or bug abuse is strictly prohibited.

Clause 8C.3

Section 8D: Special Conditions

Clause 8D.1

In timed modes, incomplete putts within the limit result in the maximum stroke count.

Clause 8D.2

Disconnections follow the game’s reconnection rules; if unable to resume, scores stand unless players agree to restart.

Section 9: Invoking the Code

Section 9A: Conditions of Code Invokage

Clause 9A.1

The Code may only be invoked on the final hole, offering players a chance for redemption.

Clause 9A.2

Players must verbally declare their intention to invoke the Code for it to be activated.

Clause 9A.3

A player cannot invoke the Code if they have committed a Code breakage on the same course.

Section 9B: Invocation Outcome Dependencies

Clause 9B.1

If a player invoking the Code is within five shots of the leader and scores a hole‑in‑one while the leader scores worse, the invoking player wins. If the leader also scores a hole‑in‑one, the leader remains the winner.

Clause 9B.2

The leading player may, by verbal agreement, allow an opponent more than five shots behind to invoke an Extended Code. When the Extended Code is invoked, Clause 9B.1 applies.
